The HARDI electric fuel pump is a diaphragm pump. In contrast to mechanical fuel pumps, it has its own drive (an electric motor or a magnetic coil), which ensures that the pump functions independently of the engine.

All HARDI pumps have a control concept in which the delivery rate of the pump adapts to the motor's consumption, which means that it pumps quickly when consumption is high and slowly or not at all when consumption is low, thereby saving electricity (flexible stroke frequency).

Attention: If your pump is defective, be sure to check whether there is rust or other contamination in your tank, as the fuel is only cleaned after the pump! If you don't take this into account, the new pump will quickly fail!

The fuel pump sucks the fuel from the tank and pushes it via a ring line to the electromagnetically operated injection valves and the electric start valve. The fuel pressure is kept constant by a fuel regulator.

The excess fuel flows back to the tank without pressure. A fuel filter between the fuel pump and the injectors retains contaminants.

When the ignition is switched on, the pump only runs as long as the starter is actuated. If the engine is running, the electronic control unit switches the pump on. This safety circuit prevents the cylinders from filling up with fuel when the ignition is switched on (full-flow protection).

For safety reasons, we recommend using a safety shutdown!
